The Principals were both in at the beginning of the personal computer age. This was a time when Apple, and Pet Commodore systems were the advance guard.
Later these companies were followed by a myriad of different companies. Each company used a proprietary operating system, forcing users to buy into that company for additional computers.
In short succession two factors changed the world.
The first was the introduction of a universal operating system. This was know as CPM. In the early days each computer maker wrote back-end routines to fit their hardware onto this Operating system. The front end was largely the same for everyone and this opened up the prospect of
authoring software that would run, without recompiling, on more than one make of computer. The second was the entry of IBM into the market. We cut our teeth in this environment and soon gained a reputation for problem solving.
We have carried this onwards into todays fully integrated society. We have un-paralled experience in designing and specifying complete systems.
